Damon Brill

SVP & Director of Information Technology

  • BIOGRAPHY

Damon Brill started at MBRE as a systems administrator in 2008 and has since risen to the role of senior vice president and director of information technology. With a wide range of technology-related experience and certifications, Brill has proven to be invaluable, evaluating and addressing MBRE's varied needs at the individual, department, and company levels.

Before arriving at MBRE, Brill worked as an IT certification instructor, corporate trainer, and consultant at several companies, including MicroTrain Technologies, Incite Technologies, and Westerick Consulting. As a Supervisor/End User Computing at Brookdale Senior Living, Brill provided strategic and operational direction for support staff, overseeing them as they assisted end users with employee hardware and software tools.

As the director of the IT department at MBRE, Brill leads the IT group in the continued development of a secure, reliable, and innovative information technology environment for all employees. His extensive skillset supports all of the company's departments and locations, from property management and corporate services to accounting and human resources. Brill's experience helps MBRE's teams serve clients from the office, the various buildings within our portfolio, and from home when necessary. His time at MBRE includes experience with systems architecture, implementation and maintenance, product research and procurement, team management, end-user support, budgeting, auditing/compliance, information security and training, and IT governance. In 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brill was instrumental in keeping critical operations and projects running. The lockdown led the shift to a full work-from-home environment and caused a major realignment of resources, from remote connectivity to sourcing hardware for end users, in addition to adopting and supporting new communication technologies.

As MBRE grows, it does so on the back of the technology and advice from the IT department. Brill's extensive IT knowledge and vigilance against potential threats have proved inestimable to the company's success. In his free time, Brill is an involved parent and volunteer in both academic activities and youth sports and fundraisers.
